Edward Wint - Sole Proprietor

Edward has traded as a Practicing Accountant for more than 50 years and has gained extensive knowledge of a wide range of clients and of their requirements and needs.

Edward is far more than a "numbers" man and believes in a more hollistic approach to every client and to their family which has resulted in many relationships lasting many, many years.

Jake Reeve – Accounts Senior / Office Manager

Jake began his accountancy career in 2007 after joining a local practice straight from sixth form. Since then, he has gained extensive experience across areas of taxation, bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and accounting software systems.

Known for his approachable nature and strong leadership skills, Jake is a real people person who builds excellent relationships with clients and leads the team effectively.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending his weekends watching his sons play football and enjoying family days out.

Tyler Barker – Senior Accountant & Tax Manager

With over a decade of experience in accountancy, Tyler became an ACCA member in July 2021 and is currently studying towards his Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification with the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Tyler is passionate about helping clients succeed — providing a service that goes above and beyond expectations. He has a well-rounded skill set that combines strong IT knowledge, systems expertise, and commercial acumen, enabling him to advise clients on the most effective software and processes to keep their businesses on the right track.

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys going to the gym, kickboxing, modifying his car, and taking on escape rooms.

Jess Tolan – Semi-Senior Accountant

Jess joined L&S in April 2023 and has since completed her AAT Levels 2, 3 and 4. She is currently working towards her ACCA, with the goal of becoming qualified by 2028.

Her role includes preparing VAT returns and accounts for sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships, as well as completing various personal and business tax returns. Jess brings enthusiasm and attention to detail to every client she supports.

Outside of work, Jess enjoys running, spending time with friends, and travelling — with the ambition of visiting as many countries as possible.

Fern Simpson – Payroll Clerk & Accounts Assistant

Fern is responsible for managing client payrolls and assisting with the preparation of accounts. She holds qualifications in Payroll and Level 2 AAT, bringing both knowledge and enthusiasm to her role.

Having worked in the accounts department since the age of 16 and specialising in payroll from 18, Fern has developed a strong understanding of payroll processes and enjoys maintaining close communication with clients on a weekly and monthly basis.

Outside of work, Fern enjoys spending time outdoors with her one-year-old daughter, caring for her ponies, and helping out on the family farm with its many animals.

Samantha Physick – Part-Time Secretary / Administrator

Samantha provides vital secretarial and administrative support to the accountancy team while also managing reception duties. She brings extensive experience as a PA at Director level, having worked across both the private and public sectors, including 16 years in the housebuilding industry.

Sam enjoys the variety her role at L&S offers and the opportunity to interact with both new and long-standing clients.

Outside of work, she loves travelling abroad and exploring the UK in her VW campervan. Although she has a passion for animals, she admits she’d probably end up with far too many pets if she worked with them full-time.
